For those that didn't read the "Postgame P", firstly, you're missing out. Secondly, the illustration of schlemiels and schlemazels was lovely and certainly applicable to the Survivor Pool. The pool contained 20 schlemazels this week, who will each get their individual due in a moment. The count of soup-spilling schlemiels that narrowly avoided disaster was far greater. Four survivors had to sweat out Wake Forest's 17-point comeback versus ODU, eight more watched Notre Dame sputter to an eventually-easy-but-still-harder-than-necessary win over CMU, another eight watched Kansas struggle to beat a bad Nevada team, another guy had Memphis squeezing out their tight tussle against the Midshipmen, and an astounding 29 (this week's plurality, in fact) were nearly forced to doff their caps and permanently remove their shades out of respect for grown-up Jay Norvell, but dodged a bullet when the Rams finally ran out of gas in double overtime. Whew.
