Every which way you can lose happened in the game. Turnovers, penalties, busted coverage, mistackles, failure to cover on a FG try, missed assignments, bad technique covering WRs, lack of aggression by OL & DL at times, lack of focus.

With so many areas to fix, OU can't help but improve in a major way next week and beyond. It won't be pretty and the team will have to choose to never lose again. The WRs have to find ways to separate or OU needs to hit the JUCO ranks hard for next season.

I pretty much agree. A couple of things that need corrected. Alveraz was snapping the ball high all game long to Baker. That throws off the timing of the Q-B. The guards struggled all game. I was disappointed we didn't see Weir at center and Alverez move to guard for at least a series or two. Dalton struggled. Ford was disappointing, considering how many good things I read about him.

Baker had a poor game. He missed an option pitch to a wide open Perine that may have went the distance. He also needs to just throw into coverage at times. He did it once to Andrews in the end zone and Mark came down with the TD. Maybe he's worried about interceptions or he's trying to carry the load.....JMO.

I think this little nugget touches on a VERY important part of what fuels preseason expectations. Every single year, we hear the coaches praising and talking up how great certain players are looking in practice, the weight room, fall drills, and scrimmages. Then when the season starts, those players they named either just completely fall flat from the praise they received, or pretty much never even see the field during the course of the season. It would be a refreshing change if players who are pointed out in preseason preparations actually delivered on the field and put on performances that back-up the preseason praise they receive.

I hate it when we lose to a glorified type Tulsa team.....
