Not counting your birth year but using only the year you started actually watching the game of football what is the series record for you. I started watching in 66 so for me its ..........................25-23-3 OU.

For me its the greatest rivalry in football outside of Army-Navy.

Since my birth year (1948), OU is 35-32-3.....despite the 13 year drought from 1958-70 when OU had only a single win in 1966.
I attended the game in 1958 that started the nightmare (15-14 Texas win) and the game in 1971 that ended it (48-27 OU win).
And I agree about the Army-Navy game rivalry.

Interesting, the year I also became a diehard fan although I grew up hearing Sooner games on the radio. Boomer.

I started listening to games on the radio in 1965 and saw my first game on TV in 1970. 25-24-3. I went to my first game in 1979 (Colorado). I might have the record for traveling the farthest to get to an OU game. Far East Russia (Sakhalin Island) to Norman. My wife's first trip to the USA was to OU/Texas. I heard her tell her friend that it was amazing, "80 thousand people drinking beer and shouting and no blood was spilled".

Okay, since my first OU game in 1958, OU has a 26-31-3 record vs Texas, thanks to that 13 year drought from 1958-1971....when OU went 1-12 vs DKR and company.

Loved listening to those radio broadcast. The first actual broadcasted Sooner game I saw was vs Nebraska in 66 on ABC ( I think it was ABC) At 7 years old I was hooked on the game and of course back then we didnt get to see the number of games we see today so radio was our only outlet to follow Oklahoma on those Saturdays. It wasnt until around 1970 though I fully had an understanding of the rules of the game. That 71 game was heartbreaking vs NU.

When I was growing up in the 80's the OU-Nebraska game was much bigger than Texas. I think Texas must have been down in the 80's?

The Nebraska game was more important, but Texassss was always more emotional. Always. My Nebraska friends could never understand it, either.

Great way to put it.

The NEB/OU rivalry was much more respectful than OU/TX. I could stomach losing to NEB, but losing to TX is no bueno man.

And now, this game is life is life or death.

I guess it just depends on the person. As a teen, I was way more excited to play Nebraska than TX. I can still remember Keith Jackson calling the games and Holieway running all over them. It was a great time to grow up and be a sooner fan

Since it's a 'Slow-News-Day', I'll throw out some of my Favorite OU Souvenirs..It's a Collection of 'Ws' that will probably NEVER be matched.

I was Fortunate enough to be introduced to all of these guys in 1957, and married into 'The Magic Circle' in 1958...As OUna said 'It was a GREAT Time to be a Sooner Fan'...

There was a Calm Confidence surrounding The Team that We Would Win...The Question was 'By how much'? And We Did...We Won, and Won, and Won, Until We Didn't...

1996 - 13-9 OU
No interest in college ball until I went to OU. I like the Boz when I was a kid but didn't watch games.

Not many teams had TWO classic great rivalries as OU did when Texas and Nebraska were on the schedule each year.
Texas too, had OU and Texas A & M.
I miss those days.....and as a CFB history buff, it's sad to see what's become of Nebraska as far as being a real powerhouse goes.

I know Texas has the real overall series lead but I wonder what other rivalry in CFB has been as close in wins vs wins in most of our lifetime. Without looking I doubt Alabama -Auburn in my lifetime is as even as our series is with Texas during this same time. 25-23-3 for me just shows how competitive the series has been for my time between the Sooners and Horns.

I just can't see Nebraska ever returning to those glory days.

Tom Osborne is the author of their demise. Moving to the Big 10 was a death blow to Nebraska.
Agree.
Nebraska will have some bowl worthy teams but will be a program similar to Iowa....far removed geographically from rich recruiting areas and with Osborne’s and Devaney’s legacies distant memories.

My first game was my freshman year in 1977. Haven't missed one since; this year marks my 42nd straight. In the 41 I have attended, Sooners lead 20-19-2.

I was not an OU fan at first even though I knew there was a family connection...my godfather was OU's first consensus A.A. My first hero and first team was Doak Walker and the aerial circus at SMU. We lived in Dallas and my first game in person was at the Cotton Bowl ( SMU vs Mizzou). We moved from Dallas back to Tulsa when I started the 4th grade ( 1950 ) but it wasn't until the ND games in the '50's when my attention and loyalty turned Crimson. My first home game to attend was in 1958 vs WVU. My first Texas game was 1963. When I married in '62 I married into an OU footbakl family...both my brother-in-laws played for OU. I've seen a lot of Sooner football over the years and it never gets old or easy. I'm stressed today.
