This isn't my normal posting game, but I'm sick of listening to the bullshit being spewed all over the place. I see a lot of stuff being written about OU's broken running game without a single bit of analysis or data. Just surface deep bullshit being constantly regurgitated b/c people want to see a feature back. Remember, OU didn't have a feature back this time last year either.

Total Rush Yards Per Game: 208 good for 28th vs 217 for 26th last year
Yards Per Attempt: 6.3 good for 8th vs 5.6 last year
Rush Attempts Per Game: 33 good for 110th vs 39 last year
Percentage of Yards coming from Rushing: 39.80% vs 37.58% last year

The difference -- opportunities. OU is 128/130 in offensive plays per game. 6+ less carries per game.

This is an offense that converts 3rd downs better than last year (51.9% vs 43.6%) - 6th this year vs 41st last year. I can't find 3rd and short, nor can I find 20+ yard runs, but I'd bet neither will show a broken run game.

Sure, they had a few early season short yardage busts. Sure, it feels different - Kyler ****ing Murray, duh. Sure, it's taken some time to get this OL to gel and it's not yet a finished product. Sure, it would be nice if they had a feature back. But this is a good to great running team, not a broken one as I continue to read and hear. OUs run game is going to be fine and the best has yet to come.
