Question for the board as I know we have many Sooner Houstonians. What happened to OU radio broadcasts down here in H-town and the surrounding areas? I remember being very young in the late 70s and listening to games with my Dad when they broadcasted out of Hitchcock (sponsored by the Bank of Hitchcock maybe?). Then, when I moved back down to Houston after college (1995) I could still pick up the games on the radio for when I was not at home or at an event that got scheduled at an inopportune time (just really a wrong time that is).
Even up to 3 or so years ago, I still remember looking in the Chronicle and seeing the am or fm station where I could listen to my beloved Sooners when I had to be in the car. My Dad and Mom (who live in Edmond) asked me if I would be listening today as I had to be on the road for part of the game and I said no, I don't think they broadcast on the radio in this area anymore. Anyone know what happened and I am right by telling my parents there is no radio broadcast here anymore? Cheers and Boomer Sooner.
