For the second straight year, the SEC top teams get some protection. They avoid any Pac 12 teams until the second round of the WCWS if seeds hold. AND they got all 13 in. Three teams with higher RPI than A&M got left out, to get the Aggies in.

Surprisingly Bama is the 8 seed. More surprisingly Florida, who was 6th place in the SEC regular season, but won the CCT, gets a 5 seed. But Bama gets the lowest RPI tournament in the tournament in the first round, so they can save their ace for game two.

Good news, Minnesota was seeded 7th. Bad news, they got by far the toughest regional of all hosts. Way way tougher than every SEC team, including four seeded behind them. Their number 4 seed is a higher RPI than the number 3 seed of every SEC team.

1 OU
2 UCLA
3 Washington
4 Florida State
5 Florida
6 Arizona (4th in the RPI and won 2 of three at UCLA over the weekend. Go figure.)
7 Minnesota
8 Alabama
Any of these teams that host and win, will also host a regional
9 Texas in Bama's Super
10 LSU in Minnesota's Super
11 Ole Miss in Arizona's Super
12 Tennessee in Florida's Super
13 OSU in FSU's Super
14 Kentucky in Washington's Super
15 Michigan in UCLA's Super
16 Northwestern in OU's Super
You'll notice that no highly ranked SEC team plays at UCLA or OU, considered the two monster teams. They left that to two of the Big Ten's big three. Then they put Minnesota at 7, but gave them Drake RPI 23 with one of the best pitchers in the country, Georgia RPI 25, and their 4th seed is N Dakota St, RPI 49. As they did last season, they want to ensure as much as possible that the SEC gets two to the WCWS.

None of this surprises me one bit and quite honestly I doubt it shocked anyone with any knowledge that this committee continues to give SEC teams regionals. Its no different than in football and baseball the SEC gets way to much love.

A&M getting in at 28-25 is laughable. The Norman regional with UMBC, Wisconsin and Notre Dame is at the very least the 2nd toughest regional. FSU at 4 seems to have no real challengers to FSU.

Again none of this should surprise anyone.
