I wonder what Kruger practices through the week? I know what he does not practice. Basic passing and dribbling skills. I would not be surprised if OU leads the Big XII in turnovers. OU leads by 2 with 1 minute left and we turned the ball over twice. Texass wins 75-72.

Fading in January has been a common theme with Kruger.

something like 2-22 on the road in the big 12. At this rate they wont reach 20 wins and will probably miss the tournament for a 2nd straight season

The thing is, we aren't far off from being good and we aren't that far off of being bad. Yes, more effective coaching, especially during the games, could lead us to a nice season. I thought maybe since we played so many non conference games away from home and we were the oldest team in Division 1 or something like that, we would win close road games. Since we have dropped several of them now, it would be nice for our guys to get pulled through by strong home crowds, at least, but the home crowds are getting worse each year for some reason. I love OU basketball, Apparently not enough of us do.

Lon doesn’t call time outs in key situations. We needed a regroup on the last shot that Bienemy missed. All in all decent coaching in this game.

It's not coaching, OU lacks the talent, period. This team is built with journey men. No studs. They play as well as can be expected.
I respectfully disagree. Good coaching can elevate ones talents. This team plays to the level of coaching they are receiving. They dribble into turnovers. They pass into tight coverage. For what I see, the issues can be coached out of this team if Kruger makes a better effort. If Kruger has the talent he can shine. He is not capable of turning 5 average players into an excellent performing team. He needs to go back to basics.

I also wonder what he practices. Because I have never been to one of his practices I am not really sure what he does. Because they turn the ball over a lot it most certainly and logically follows that they never practice basic passing and dribbling skills. Right! I had the good fortune to coach high school basketball for thirty years. We worked on basic passing and dribbling skills every single day. I will go out on a limb here and say that most coaches do that. I would preach constantly to my kids that there is no offense we can run that would hide poor fundamentals. It’s funny how the more talent I had the fewer turnovers we had. I am not a big Lon Kruger fan. But to say he never practices basic passing and dribbling skills seems a bit of a stretch.

This is what you get when an old coach runs the show. OU needs a young, energetic guy running the show.

I don't know what the answer is - coaching, recruiting, turnovers, timeouts or all of the above. I thought OU played pretty well on the road in Austin, but letting the horns go on a 24-8 run in the first half and the cold shooting and turnovers with four minutes left put OU in the loss column on the road.

I'll still support Lon and his team, but OU's gotta learn to win on the road in this conference.

Yep. Can’t be old and be effective. Amazing that John Wooden won all those ncaa championships at UCLA as an old guy. Coach K at Duke is in his sixties. Shaka Smart at Texas is one of those young energetic coaches that really hasn’t done Shit at Texas. OU is not what you get when you have an old coach running the show. OU is what you get when you have no real tradition, a crummy arena, and a very little talent. We need a coach that can effectively recruit and develop higher level talent. I don’t care if he is 26 or 66. Just my opinion.

Nice win tonight for the Sooners on the road in The Stool. OU needed this conference road win in the worst way. I hate seeing teams go on those crazy runs on us, but glad our guys can play some D and have enough versatility on offense to stay in the game.

Bienamy grew up big tonight. (Probably spelled his name wrong)

I am liking Bieniemy (I may have spelled it wrong too) more and more and am glad to see him starts and more playing time. This freshman is going to be a very good player for OU.

I am glad that McNeace seems to be playing better despite his ankle injury and is getting more minutes and had some big points last night in the paint.
