Team Notes

• Attendance for Saturday’s game at Gaylord Family — Oklahoma Memorial Stadium was 83,911, marking OU’s 142nd straight sellout of an originally scheduled home game, dating back to the start of the 1999 season. It is the nation’s second-longest current streak.
• Oklahoma has won its last 11 home games and 29 of its last 30.
• Kent State’s three points were the fewest Oklahoma has allowed against an FBS opponent since 2017 at Kansas (won 41-3).
• The OU defense has allowed only one touchdown through two games this season. It is the first time since the 2013 season the Sooners have allowed only one TD over any two-game span (34-0 win vs. UL-Monroe and 16-7 win vs. West Virginia).
• The Sooners have won 79 straight games when holding opponents to 23 or fewer points. The last time OU held an opponent to 23 or fewer points and lost was in 2009 (fell 10-3 at Nebraska on Nov. 7).
• Tonight marked OU’s seventh consecutive game with an interception, dating back to last season. The only FBS team with a longer
active interception streak entering the weekend was Georgia State (nine).
• For the second straight week, the Sooners outscored their opponent by at least 30 points and held an advantage in total yards (430 total yards to 295 tonight) despite trailing the total time of possession by at least 12 minutes (Kent State held the ball for 36:19 to OU’s 23:41).
• The Oklahoma defense registered 14 tackles for loss and three sacks. It was OU’s most TFLs in a game since recording 15 in the 2019 Big 12 Championship against Baylor.
• The Sooners have registered nine sacks and 23 tackles for loss through their first two games this season.
• Three players finished with double-digit tackles tonight, marking the first time for the feat since the 2018 season at West Virginia (Caleb Kelly had 14 tackles and Curtis Bolton and Kenneth Murray each had 10).
• This marked the second straight game an OU receiver had two touchdown receptions (Marvin Mims vs. tonight and Brayden Willis vs. UTEP).
• Ten different receivers caught a pass in the game. Four players had multiple receptions (Marvin Mims [7], Theo Wease [3], Drake Stoops [3] and Daniel Parker [2]).
• Oklahoma gained 158 total yards in the first half (151 passing yards) and gained all but 77 of those yards on its scoring drive just before halftime.
• WR Jalil Farooq and DL Isaiah Coe made their first career starts on Saturday.
