NORMAN — Oklahoma fell one spot to No. 10 in the latest AP Top 25 poll, released Sunday.

The Sooners beat Iowa State 42-41 on Saturday. Oklahoma was coming off a bye week and trying to bounce back from a 48-41 loss to Kansas State.

Around the Big 12, Baylor fell back one spot to No. 12, Texas entered the poll at No. 22 after a win over Kansas State. Oklahoma State, who was on a bye this week, also entered the poll, coming in at No. 25. Kansas State, who was up to No. 20 last week, fell out of the poll.

Oklahoma takes on Baylor in Waco, Texas, on Saturday.

LSU hung on to the top spot after beating Alabama. Ohio State and Clemson each moved up one spot to Nos. 2 and 3 respectively. Alabama fell to No. 4 and Georgia moved up to No. 5.

Oregon, Minnesota, Utah and Penn State make up the rest of the top 10 ahead of Oklahoma.

I watched the Penn State - Minnesota game Saturday and came away thinking the Gophers are for real. They aren’t up to Ohio State standards but I can see why they are undefeated. I’m surprised that the Sooners only dropped one spot. I guess there just aren’t that many good teams behind them. Lol

The latest Coaches and AP poll prove how much of a joke they are. I am not referencing the OU drop because it was warranted but to see Alabama at 4 over more deserving teams prove that they care more about the name on the jersey than they do a teams resume.

Losing by 5 doesn’t offset the fact that one has no quality wins and in fact has the worst SOS when compared to other 1 loss teams. Alabama is # 4 based only on the name on it’s jersey and nothing more. This is proof that they make a mockery of the system as teams should be ranked on achievements not brand name.

If the committee has Bama at 4 then it sends a message that they don’t do the research they claim they do.
