And Notre Dame beat North Carolina.

So it is very probable, even likely, that OU will be number two in the conference on Monday at 7-3, but number one in the country at 19-3. I can't imagine that number three would pass us, since we beat them by 23 on a neutral site two months ago. And Carolina lost both games last week to Louisville and ND.

I wonder if the guys were doing a little look past KState. Given that in four years, they'd never beaten KU or KSU in their gym, that would seem hard to believe.

They were ice cold the second half and getting called for fouls for breathing on someone. KSU played very very well too.

K-State probably had their best shooting night of this year and maybe last year. We did shoot really well against the Cowboys a few weeks ago though. I don't watch all of your games but you guys didn't shoot well tonight.

I hope that you guys win the Conference. I am hoping that we beat KU in the Octagon of Doom and help you out with that.

Part of the reason that we didn't shoot well, was that except for Woodard, we weren't getting very good looks, and he couldn't make anything. They shot well, because they got a lot of great looks, even though it was mostly guys who hadn't made much this year.

The officiating was part of it, but we didn't play very well. We seem to have become very reliant on Lattin to protect the basket and not work hard enough at keeping guys out of the lane. When Khadeem only got to play eight minutes, we got exposed. The officials taking away the advantages of quickness by calling so many fouls, and it made width a lot more an advantage. We don't have much of that.

We got outplayed. And outshot. but they had a great plan and kept big guys on Buddy and the couldn't easily shoot over. There were determined to make somebody else beat them, and our other guys couldn't. A big factor: because the game was called so tightly, there was a lot of transition after free throws, which makes it harder to run. So Buddy got almost no looks in transition after the first ten minutes..

But the good news was that Lon gave the bench guys more minutes, at least in part by necessity and that will help down the road. The bad news is that for the most part, we didn't get much production from them. I get a little less hopeful about the seven footer just about every time out. No strength and really bad hands. No wonder none of the first three guards want to throw it to him on the block.

Yes, that would be something. How much should KSU charge you for playing KU on their court?

Might be Maryland. One less loss than Iowa, though the Hawkeyes beat them, and MSU twice. I guess we'll see.

I'm getting a feeling about OUr team that we had an earlier in the season advantage with all the returning experience, but now that is less a factor, and overall quality of talent is becoming a bigger factor. OUr lack of size and depth is going to be more of a factor as time goes on.
