Take a breath. Not bad, no?
Not bad at all.
So that's three in the #Rivals150, but the Sooners aren't done. And it's clear who they want the rest of the way. A scoring option (guard or forward) to join Harmon, and a big, which will most likely be a junior college big, IMO.
Lon Kruger and staff back at it this weekend with two official visitors.
OK, Hall everybody knows. Big-time talent, at Sunrise Christian, all that good stuff. Looks like Purdue is the leader in the clubhouse. OU has its work cut out this weekend to change that narrative.
Merritt is an intriguing one, seems to be Chris Crutchfield's guy. The interesting thing about Merritt is that he missed all of last season, so he'll be a RS freshman this year. If he ends up a Sooner, he would be a 3-for-3 guy, so that might make him a lil more appealing. But he's the definition of "diamond in the rough," or at least OU hopes so.
* There are contingency plans, too, if Hall and/or Merritt don't work out. OU seems like it might have to work a lil harder for a juco big, but there are some early names being tossed around. If we get to that point, we'll examine those names.
For Hall? Well, it's names you know in four-star guys Terry Armstrong and Tyson Etienne.
OU is pumped following the visits of both of 'em. But when you see Armstrong as a Scottsdale kid with a legitimate Arizona offer, you try to temper those expectations a bit.
The Sooners made his final four this week, but it's hard to imagine Kruger and co. beating out the home state Wildcats.
Etienne, to me, still sounds like the No. 1 realistic guy on the board, so I'm sticking with my original prediction from this week.
- Harmon
- Iwuakor
- Hill
- Etienne
- ???
If that comes through, that's four in the #Rivals150. You add in the eligibility of Austin Reaves as well for 2019-20, and dang, OK, you're allowed to get fired up.
