OU 87, UTSA 67
- Could you have asked for anything more from Christian James to start the season? 29 points on Friday, 24 on Monday. And an efficient 24 points, going 8-10 from the field.
- This game changed after that horrendous flagrant foul called on Rashard Odomes. UTSA had a 4-point possession to take a 52-48 lead, and then OU's defense took over. Miles Reynolds and Jamal Bieniemy and then Bieniemy again and Bieniemy again. Really impressive.
Bieniemy goes 8 pts, 5 steals, 4 assts. That's not too bad, not bad at all.
- Brady Manek with his second double-double of the season (and career). Goes for 10 points and 11 rebounds. He's playing bigger. The shot wasn't falling this evening, but it didn't stop him from still being a factor on the court in stark contrast to last year when his shot was off, he disappeared.
- Aaron Calixte had 18 points, and ya gotta feel good about the combo of Calixte and Bieniemy at the point. That should work out pretty well.
- OU forced 20 turnovers. Defensive effort was there. Again, that's just an attitude thing, regardless of opponent.
- BBall signing day Wednesday (Harmon, Iwuakor, Hill, Merritt, Williams).
- OU home opener Sunday afternoon vs. Wofford.
