Well, at least we didn't get swept by Long beach State. We came back in the bottom of the 9th to win the game

We are 6-9-1 on the year.


NORMAN, Okla. – Senior left fielder Hunter Haley (Nacogdoches, Texas) blasted a three-run, walk-off home run to right-center to provide the dramatic finish to a ninth-inning comeback as the University of Oklahoma baseball team defeated Long Beach State, 6-3, at L. Dale Mitchell Park on Sunday afternoon. The Sooners, who trailed 3-2 entering the ninth, improved to 6-9-1, while the Dirtbags dropped to 10-5.

I thought you were kidding about their nickname until I looked it up. They really are the Dirtbags! Love how these two California teams, the UC Santa Barbara Banana Slugs and the Long Beach State Dirtbags don't take themselves too seriously.

Well Long Beach State's official nickname are the 49ers. Only the baseball team is referred to as the dirt bags. I read about it on yahoo a few years ago but now I can't remember the exact reason for it. When they went to the College World Series a few years ago they became they favorites of the fans there because of that nickname.
