Cannot be good karma to play Louisville there on the first anniversary of Muhammad Ali's death.

0-0 T2 Irvin has throw six pitches in the inning. No strikes yet. VIsit to the mound.

Sooners get a line drive double play to get out of T2.

A two out first pitch single by Ware in B2, but O'Brien fans on a fastball in his eyes. Louisville's pitcher is an elite, potential first round draft pick. Irving better be good. No score after 2.

No score after 3. Irvin has throw 45 pitches after 3.

McKay, the Cardinal stud is under 40.

McKay is stud on offense too. They think he'll be player of the year. He skied to center on the first pitch, for the 3rd out of T4. Still no score.

Flansberg reaches with no outs, when the shortstop airmails first. Runner at first, no outs.

Martinez pops way up to 2nd. 1 out

Walker flies to left.

O'Brien soft liner to short in short left.

No score after 4.

Irvin has thrown only 65 pitches through 5, and has retired 11 in a row.

No score heading to B5.

One out walk. On a hit and run, Mendenhall hits the fence on the fly. 1-0 Sooners on the RBI double.

Zaragosa line single to center. Mendenhall hesitated and it cost him scoring. 1st and 3rd one out.

Safety squeeze gets the runner to 2nd, but Mendenhall holds at third. 2 outs.

Flansberg grounds to 2nd. 1-0 Sooners after 5

Louisville ties it on a lead double, a sac bunt and a sac fly. Irving has thrown 75 pitches in 6 innings. 1-1 heading to B6.

Martinez flies out on the first pitch. Walker grounds slowly to 2nd. O'Brien flies to center on a 3-2 pitch. 87 pitches for McKay.

After 6, 1-1.

Cardinals go in order. Grounder to 3rd. Roller to 1st. Swinging K. Only 83 pitches for Irvin.

1-1 heading to B7

B7

Ware K's on a high outside fast ball. 1 out

DeRenzo walks on a 3-2 pitch after a couple of fouls.

McKay leaves after 101 pitches.

10 pitch at bat for Mendenhall, but he fans on a really good breaking pitch. 2 out.

Zaragosa grounds to 2nd on a 3-2 pitch.

Still 1-1 after 7.

OU allows a lead walk and then a hit and run for 1st and 3rd. Zaragosa throws out the runner at 3rd for the first out, but then a walk loads the bases. 2nd pitcher change of the inning.

Single to LC plates two. 3-1 Cardinals. Still just one out.

Now 5-1 with a runner at 3rd. The inning was set up on a hit and run play. One might ask why the 2nd baseman is covering with a lefty hitter up and the pitch is a slow breaking ball. Totally changed the game. That could be on the middle infielders. But a bad mental mistake.

It's not 1-1 any more. The Pete haters have to be happy.

The crucial question of the night has been answered apparently. Which would be higher in the top of the 8th? Louisville runs scored? Or OU pitchers used. Louisville scored 7, we only used five pitchers. Or was it six? Anyhow 8-1 Cardinals heading to B 8.

A poor bullpen makes coaches look really bad.

Was the final 10-1? I went over and watched Odor fan on two pitches out of the strike zone after the Rangers cut it to 6-5 and had the tying run on.
