The vegas lines are out and as usual the Sooners are favored to beat the whorns. this year the opening spread is -10.5. That basically means two things. their analysts think we're a lot better than UT. thanks guys! but the other point is more subtle. in this game, regarded by more than a few as the greatest rivalry in any sport, you have a rare top 10 match-up (rare as in lately) in a highly-charged nationally-televised showdown. so that seems like a bunch of points to give the underdog right? well such a big line is a challenge by vegas to encourage betting, not necessarily a prediction of a final score. i'd wager (bad pun sorry) early money takes the dogs (another pun but at least accurate) and the 10+. (btw the over is 73.5 ....a high scoring game predicted)

Texas has had three gut checks in wins over OSU and to a certain degree, West Virginia, and played unbeaten LSU within 7 points, in a game Texas could have won.
OU has cruised through an easier schedule so far.
So I have no idea which OU team will show up, but I'm fairly certain OU will score its share of points, which in recent years hasn't been enough in some games.
Keys to the game for OU, in my opinion, are the offensive and defensive lines....protecting Hurts and allowing OU to have a good running game....and putting pressure on Ehlinger, which also helps the linebackers and the secondary.

This is a game won in trenches...mitigating penalties....and generating turnovers (hear that part D guys?) Agree with you whole heartedly CT. Got to get SE flustered. Rattle his mojo.

SE and improvising to WR's is their run game. OU will have to make sure tackles and win in the trenches to give Hurts time to do his thing.

To the O/T, a fool & his $$$ is easily parted...

Pretty simple--control Ehlinger and we win the game. I think we can score 30 plus against this pass defense. Hold them under 30 and I really like our chances.
