OT: The Royal Wedding

Does anyone here care about this fluff and circumstance ?
Why ?
Whewwwwwww, CT...Exhale, time! When I saw your post, I was surprised, and disappointed! I couldn't imagine why you'd think anyone cared! Forgive me for jumping to conclusions...For a moment, I misjudged you! Solly, Cholly!

In today's world, one has choices of whether to tune in or out. I find it interesting that a thread is created to discuss something that's not cared about. The dynamic is crazy good.

My thoughts? She was a beautiful bride. She, like her mother in law will once again add to the gene pool of good looks into the bloodline of the Royals which is sorely needed if we are to constantly be bombarded with their images.

Yeah, I think it's kinda cool. History being made before our very eyes. Plus, it's interesting see and learn about other culture's traditions and observances. Besides, if I ever do get invited to a royal wedding, then I'll know what to say and do. Sure would hate to embarrass myself or cause an international furor over a misstep or ill-timed comment. ;)

What I want to know is since the bride is a (very wealthy) mutt, when they procreate will that make the child 3/4 of a royal or what... ?

I was hoping to see Pippa (or whatever) do something exotic in the 5-10 minutes I tuned in

Gary, if I have it correct, and if the newlyweds have a baby, it would be 7th in line to the crown.

I just discovered today that apparently the Queen's husband can't be called the King but if the Crown would pass to her son Chuck, his wife (or whatever Camilla is) can be called the Queen AND apparently succession falls to his sons and grandkids but not his brothers (the royal uncles). It would be so much easier if they still had Royal killings for position... (just a joke; I don't condone or advocate any form of murder)

I think it's the pomp and circumstance that intrigues Americans. The British are master's at it. The circumstances surrounding the event are less important than the actual event itself. It's sort of like watching the Rose Parade.

Don't believe in Royalty, never have and never will. He// man we fought 2 wars
against that same royalty. I have a hard time understanding people who would
support such trash. That's the same as people being born into a position of
wealth without doing anything to earn it. Getting you azz kissed for being born
into it, that's trash.

Whatever you do, don't try to kiss the queen or even touch her.

I heard that the bride is a deep undercover operative who will be triggered to complete the conquest of the Brits, that our ancestors started in 1776.

Gold digger marries the second best thing available in England. Yeah she will have money but the hubby will never be King. Kinda like Bill Clinton marrying Hillary, she will make good money sure but she will never be President. :D

LoL. At this point in life, I wouldn't care who made fun of me for being second best. :)

We won the war so I wouldn't have to care about it.

On a serious note, it seems like a gigantic waste of money that could have been better spent benefiting the less fortunate. But that's what royalty of all origins has been known for throughout history (our current goverment included), gleefully spending tons of other people's money on frivolous shit for themselves.

Actually, as weird as it sounds, the Brits love this stuff... the peagentry and fluff with their tax money for some reason I/we don't understand, they seem to enjoy.
