This is Depressing to me, along with raising the Questions...What Happened? and What Are We Going to Do About It?

In the recent Spotlight, in which Oklahoma has found itself, almost all of the Pulitzer 'Wannabes' include some reference to our State's past, where we were known only as Steinbeck's Okies, and our claim to fame was mostly about Tornadoes, until Bud came along and put together a scrappy , record-breaking football team at OU, that put Oklahoma 'On the Map'.

We are still known for our Weather Extremes, and now, The Murrah Building Bombing, and The Thunder have been added to the 'Attention Getting' List...Who/What changed the Identity of The Sooner State? Who rewrote Oklahoma History?

Where is no-longer-relevant OU Football?

Those type of web pages are designed for one thing... pay to click. Instead of they being paid for your single click (everything on one page), they get paid for ten clicks (you visited their web page ten times). So it is a dishonest scheme from the very start. Which brings up the question... can you trust the content? It's all opinion. Nothing more.

My opinion is that when it comes to Sooner Athletics, we've got nothing to be ashamed of.

My opinion is that most people are provincial when they don't travel and don't take an interest or have a curiosity in the world around them.
My in-laws from Boston, who have always lived in Boston and stay within the New England region, believe they live in the cradle of culture and intellectual thought.....so far, I have not found any of them to have reaped the benefits of this. The arrogance is there, however.

Mark Twain wrote: "Travel is fatal to prejudice". When you have lived in different parts of the country this really rings true.

In the case of Oklahoma, I know that it's a good place to live, earn a living, attend college and raise a family while being among some of the nicest and proudest people anywhere.....and that's without living in the shadows of a football team.
