I have not had a chance to be on the corner this weekend so I am posting a little late.
As I am sure all of you were shocked to hear of another mass murder in the country, this one feels like a turning point for me and my family.
I am surprised to find that there was not a single thread on this tragedy. Is that a function of this passing for normal or just buried on a game day.
While I was shocked at previous church massacres and other shootings as a Jew and the son of a survivor this tragedy seems less random.
I have wondered if I was living in Nazi Germany, which was as enlightened a country as any in the world at the time, would I have ignored the signs or dropped everything to get out? Now I wonder at what point will I feel like I need to leave for my family's safety?
Any reassurances would be welcome though I am not looking for political discourse at this time.
