Hey all. My name is Jed and I am a long time lurker of the site. Graduated from OU with my BS EE in 2006 and have been hooked on the Sooners since I moved here from the Philippines. This board has changed throughout the years but I generally think that it is full of great folks. With that, my wife and I started a GoFundMe Campaign for the family of one of our close family friends. His family could really use some prayers and if you are so inclined, some support. Our good friend is former OL Tavaris Jeffries.
I know that Tavaris Jeffries is viewed in a not so positive way on the boards by some. I get it. He had some troubles while at OU and it took so much for me not to come out stick up for him on this board years ago. But that is a story for another day and it is the past. He learned from his mistakes and understands how his decisions have caused him to have to work harder to reach his goals. Tavaris has had to work his tail off to play Arena ball, CFL, and finally get invited to the Free Agent Combine in Detroit last year. He graduated with his degree and throughout it all, Stoops has helped him along the way.
That being said, Tavaris and his wife recently had their second child on May 8th. Her name is Taylor. Last week Tavaris had to quit the arena team he was playing for in Washington and his wife Sha'Raye had to take leave from work in Shreveport indefinitely as Taylor was transported to Children's Medical Center in Dallas. She is barely a month old and awaiting a heart transplant. Taylor is currently in the cardiac ICU awaiting a donor and has a long road ahead in the hospital and at home when she is finally released. We are also told that she will have to be on several costly medications for the rest of her life. My wife and I are asking for prayers for Taylor and the Jeffries family. Also, if you may know anybody who might have known Tavaris or Sha'Raye to please pass this along. Sha'Raye is also an OU grad and was an athletic trainer on the team so chances are somebody here might know her.
