Figured this is as good a spot as any to inquire about this. I'm looking for a new pair of sunglasses. This is a big deal for me because I'm sorta a minimalist when it comes to fashion. I've had the same pair of sunglasses for 3 years and I got em from a LEO shop in Georgia, and they only cost like $30, and that's the most I've ever spent on sunglasses. So obviously, Maui Jim and Oakley's are a big step up in price and something I'm not used to doing. So I need help on choosing the right type.
Maui Jim, from the looks online, make the colors you see really pop. But they're pretty expensive and the pair I want are about $100 more than the Oakley's I want. And the technology is supposed to be really great for your eyes. But I've noticed that people can see your eyes, which I don't want, cause...well...ya know.
Oakley is more well known obviously, they look cool, and are durable. Cheeper (but still not cheap) and are supposed to be good for your eyes, and people can't see your eyes too easily.
So my question is, has anyone tried Maui Jim sunglasses and are they worth the considerable markup in price over Oakleys?
