With Verlander added to the Astros' rotation, this team is going the extra mile in getting a World Series championship to the city of Houston and a great fan base.
I believe the tragedy of this hurricane had at least something to do with acquiring Verlander before the September 1st deadline for teams to have their playoff rosters set.
If there's a World Series championship in the Astros' future, I hope that future is NOW. The city and its great fan base deserve it now more than ever.

I could not be more stoked. CORREA back this weekend. It's time to close th is out and win AL home field advantage. The Astros are an exciting and young team. I think they can win the A.L. but both the Nationals and Dodgers have WS caliber rotations.

Man if Houston wins the WS, this is going to be eerily similar to the Saints winning the 2005 Super Bowl.

As if I needed another reason to dislike teams from Dallas:
The Rangers' refusal to swap the 3 games in Houston this past week to late September in Houston and playing in Arlington this past week is petty, selfish and disgraceful.
Actually, the Rangers wanted all six games to be played in their stadium according to Astros' sources.
Rangers' GM Jon Daniels said it wouldn't be fair to the Rangers fans who had tickets for the games in Arlington in late September. It's all about money these days, even in the face of enormous tragedy.

I wouldn't mind seeing the Astros win a WS. The Giants suck this year so I am pulling for either the Indians or Astros.

Of all the teams I've seen the Astros play this year the Indians and the Red Sox are the 2 best, at least in the A.L. We had a tight 3 game series with the Nationals and they impressed me as well.

Agree.
My hope as an Astros' fan is that the Verlander deal pays off big time.....and that the bullpen can improve. But I think Cleveland and Boston are the teams to beat.
