I know we have discussed this before but I want to update you on my experience today. First, I have negotiated discounts with them for the last 10 years with no difficulty. Today I called customer service and after a couple of minutes she said there was nothing she could do for me. I called bullshit and said transfer me to the retention department. She went offline for a moment, came back and said still nothing I can do and they can’t either. I called even more bullshit and demanded that she transfer me to retention.
Retention came on and I was expecting a huge argument. Nope. The guy was really nice, offered me a $45 per month discount for 12 months with NO contract. He also offered NFL Sunday ticket at NO charge. I didn’t even have to ask for it. I explained to him what had happened earlier in the call. He said to always just ask for retention. They are the only ones that can make a deal like this.
