I read this and had to think about it for a second - crazy stats:
"That's two guys [Meyer/Saban] winning seven of the past 12 titles -- at four different schools."
In today's era of parity, the alleged me-me-me attitude of players that want to play right now or transfer, the fact that every school is on TV every week now and even small schools get good recruits, the heights of lunacy that recruiting has reached - that stat is crazy. Not too mention that each of them has taken at least one season to broadcast/coach in the NFL. And, in 2003, Meyer was at Utah. If you take only the years that they have coached at Bama/Florida/Ohio State the titles v. years ratio is even more crazy.
Heck, Stoops' four national championship game appearances in 9 seasons was utterly ridiculous given the times - whatever their methods (and some of them are certainly not within the rules) these guys are killing it.
