Just for sh*ts and giggles, I did some research on football attendance within each conference.
In the Big XII, there are 2 schools (OU and Texas) who get far more fans to attend games than everyone else. On the other end of the spectrum, KU averaged only 34,000 fans per game last year. The remaining seven schools in the Big XII averaged 52,388 fans, with Tech being the highest and TCU being the lowest in that group. Texas Tech (3rd highest in the Big XII), averaged 58,934 fans last season. The SEC's 2nd lowest (or 13th out of 14) was Kentucky. The 'Cats averaged 57,572 fans.
So basically 3rd highest in the Big XII equates to second-to-last in the SEC. Losing Nebraska, aTm and Missouri really hurt our conference's prestige level and hit our average attendance figures hard.
Here is the average by conference for 2014:
SEC = 78,704
B1G = 66,215
Big XII = 58,006
PAC-12 = 52,705
ACC = 49,861
