OSU looks pathetic

So far the B12 looks to be in for a disappointing season. Still time to turn it around but the top 3 schools haven’t played as advertised.

Iowa State was due for a collapse. They look like one of the more overrated teams in recent years. I can’t see much in way of competition from anyone else in this shaky conference. Baylor may beat shorthorns and likely several others. You can tell Big 12 trends and this conference continues to fall.

The Clones are confusing; they have almost everyone back from last year, a decent coach and nearly a balanced record against Ferentz but have shot themselves in the foot against the hawks six years in a row.
Assuredly they will play us tough in November unless they lose some key players before then

For the majority of the games, Mike Gundy appears to be the most disinterested coach since Gary Gibbs.
Gibbs inherited a program on probation and a program with a rogue reputation with drugs, shootings and a gang rape in the athletes' dormitory. Recruiting had to be challenging under these conditions and for the next ten years, OU's program became far removed from being a powerhouse.
Gibbs may have been too low keyfor a head coaching position....as most coaches may have been if compared to Switzer....but it will never be known how Gibbs might have fared had he inherited a clean OU program.

Yep, we will never know what he could have done if the program had been clean but nothing would have changed his sideline coaching presence as the HC, which was like that of a turnip. On the otherhand, he and I sat next to each other at a baseball game the spring that he left the program. He was very outgoing and friendly. He seemed like the happiest person in the world. And not once during the game did he say “Obviously we are very disappointed”.

It is pretty easy how to beat the Clones. Put steady and heavy pressure on Purdy, then stuff Hall when their passing game falters. I bet they lose several conference games.

So all the talk of sanders being improved are whack right?

he had a pick six and put the ball on the ground twice?

Yes he is no good with an obvious weak OL and running game. I cannot believe they were 22 in Coaches Poll. The really have no business ln the Top 25. Gundy should really get some pressures as they lose more games.

Switzer is a HOF coach.....but his end game at OU was dismal in that it took over ten years for OU to recover from its 3 year probation and its perception as a rogue program. Gibbs was the polar opposite and while his low key demeanor was unpopular to many fans, I do not believe it was a bad reflection of his ability as a coach. With Gibbs, one has to look at the bigger picture beyond his 44-23 record when evaluating his time as OU's coach. There was so much to clean up and repair as Switzer left and I think, under the circumstances, Gibbs did a good job in at least cleaning up the fallout from the probation and scandals that hung over OU's program.
A man of Gibbs' quality may have been the best cure for that dark time in the long run.
