For those surprised by the timeline — yeah, I am too. Roberts had been adamant throughout the whole process that he wouldn’t decide until after his five OV’s, and what had kept us hanging on to the OU predictions was the knowledge that the Sooners would get the last crack at him on June 21-23.
I’ll eat the missed FutureCast. It is what it is. And in all transparency, I don’t think this kid will be one that Oklahoma tries all that hard to flip. He’s had his opportunity, and has now turned it down twice despite being at/near the top of OU’s overall priority list. So although he’ll likely still be on campus several more times before the end of the cycle, I think the ball will remain in Roberts’ court if he wants to seriously re-engage with Oklahoma. The Sooners will now turn their focus toward DaSaahn Brame, Chase Loftin and Dakotah Terrell.
