I love Bob as most of you do. Some act like fireing Mike in middle of season was an embarrassment. Well, how long would Mike have been here if he wasn’t Bob’s brother? After last years playoff game his ass should have been gone!! Giving him a raise and extension? Wtf? On Bob and his legacy

Bob has nor had no responsibility in Mike's firing. I think everyone agrees Mike should have been gone after the Georgia game.

Bob should have fired him earlier. I don't think he had the heart and balls to fire him. I'll go further to say that I believe that he knew Mike should have been fired and that he couldn't do it so he stepped down and walked away.

Bob's a great coach and a good man. But he'll always be tied to his brother and his failing to let him go.

Absolutely truth...he certainly did not deserve or earn a raise & extension.

I think these two things was two-fold. Needed for recruiting and if he wasn't fired, his contract called for both actions to be implemented. Raise & Extension

Goodness, get over all of this. There is no reason to keep the Mike Stoops issue going. It is over and done with.

Would I have preferred that Bob not bring his brother Mike back to OU as DC? Hell yes!

That is all water under the bridge. At the time Bob retired I can argue that he did the right thing by turning the program over to Lincoln Riley ... and that even if there was some to the idea that Mike stay for the 2017 season.

I can argue that Bob or Lincoln firing Mike at the time of the change over would have created a big issue for Riley. Riley would have been put in the position of having to find an IMMEDIATE replacement. Doing that could have really hurt the team and hurt the 2018 recruiting class the most.

The transition went very smooth and even though none of wanted Mike at OU it was the right way to make the switch. So, trying to pin some hicky on Bob for the way it played out is childish, in my opinion!

He and Barry just walk around shaking hands and kissing babies.

Bob's son is a Preferred Walk-On, if memory serves. Looks like he is red-shirting this year.
