First, I've seen some sites say we need to replace four offensive lineman from last year. Bolderdash I tell you, we replace only two.

Here's my breakdown:

LT: O.Brown. What can you say when a guy was a first team freshman last year. The sky is the limit. I hope he stays healthy, because the back ups are questionable.

Center: J Alvarez is finally in his natural position. Started at guard last year and could easily be moved back if the two new guards faulter. I see an up grade here from last year.

Here's where thing get dicey.....

RT: D Samia is a returning starter but I really think the coaching staff wants him to move to RG. I read where the coaching staff thinks he could end up an All American at that position. If he doesn't then we will see either B. Powers or C. Ford. Ford is the favorite, but he is nursing a broken hand. That's a kiss of death for a lineman. Holding the jersey is part of the game and you can't grab if you have a hand cast. Ford is rumored to be the best athlete on the offensive line.

RT: If Samia moves to guard then we are hearing that B.Evans is the likely replacement. Everything I've read is how much this guy has improved. Q Mittermeir is also getting some attention.

Well that's my breakdown from reading and listening to talk radio.

BTW, Plaino or any other coaching type posters, can you tell me if we pull guards and centers in our current offense? It seemed we did in a few plays last year, but I know you would know more than I. Alveraz was rated very high as a pulling guard. I don't have any idea if we would pull a center?

Is Alvarez' natural spot C? I thought he was a guard by trade.

Alex Dalton will hopefully return from ACL injury early and not miss a beat. Big recruit and he was coming on at the end of last year. We need a backup center to relieve Alvarez at times.

Jamal Danley was the #1 JuCo OL 2 years ago. He had some injury issues last year that kept him off the field, but there's no reason to think he shouldn't be in the guard rotation this year.

Ashton Julious from Lackawanna is reportedly in the fight at either guard or backup tackle due to his tall frame.

And here's one that I'm not reading about that piques my interest; Dwayne Orso. He was such a huge recruiting story on the defensive side. Now, he's moved to OL. Anyone with the skill to play DL that can also gain the size for OL should be really good right? What's the deal with him?

LT - Brown, Julious
LG - Ford, Danley
C - Alvarez, Dalton
RG - Evans, Powers
RT - Samia, Julious

Yes - we'll be better than 2015.
I'll say 10-15%. Brown, Samia and Ford getting bigger and stronger.

I expect the OL will become pretty good but from what Bedenbaugh has said, there's some shuffling around with newcomers and also position changes that have to be resolved very quickly.
As of today, I will hold off on how good this OL will become. The same holds true for the linebacking corps and the wide receiver rotation.
I feel fairly confident that the coaching staff that has been upgraded dramatically over the past 2-3 years will get the team up and running by September 3rd.

Alvarez was recruited as a Center. He's much bigger than Darlington but not quite as knowledgeable of the intricacies of the O. He has a lot of calls he has to make at the Los. The O-line shapes out to be as follows when we take the field at NRG: LT Brown, LG Ford, C Alvarez, RG Samia, RT B.Evans.
