I’m hearing that this whole ordeal wasn’t even about the money (could completely be) but the circumstances around it are so odd that it almost feels like it WASN’T about a money/tampering situation.
its being said that this comes down to Marcus Hicks. Yes, the Marcus Hicks who didn’t even play this year. According to someone that watched Instagram posts VERY intently, it was actually about how OU handled Marcus’ situation. Evidently, he gave up his scholly this year as he was told we could make room for him as a GA. This did not come to fruition, and when Marcus asked for his scholly back, the staff told him no.
fast forward to when this all went down, it was reported that Reginald Green’s last tweet before deactivating was “you don’t treat family like that” and Marcus’ father went on Twitter to basically publicly shame the staff for not keeping promises and not even three hours later, it’s reported that Cayden entered the portal. Maybe the Green family decided they couldn’t trust OU after this?
