Changes should have been made immediately following last season when Mike's "Obstacle Course" defense couldn't even slow down the most basic run play in college football. Riley chose to do nothing instead. I get it. It was his first year and firing the brother of the guy that gave you your dream job wouldn't sit well with me either. Now Riley HAS TO do something. Not only does he need to do make the change he needs to get the right guy to take the defensive coordinator job. If he puts Ruffin in that spot he will be painting himself into the same corner all over again. What if Ruffin isn't the guy? Is he going to make the program suffer for the next few years because he won't be able to fire his buddy? Now we get to see what Riley is made of. What will he do? Will he do anything? Will he trade one bad decision for the other. How he handles this will be telling of what we can expect for OU Football for the next several years.
