but I won't be happy about it. I fully expect tosu to jump us this week to 5 but hope we start the steady climb to the top 4 throughout the remainder of the season.

i see it going down like this IA...tOSU and whiskey are solid. Georgia, Bama, Aubbie and LSU look legit. Clemson of course then OU. that's 8 salty dogs right there. bucks and badgers play 10/26. knock out one of em. George goes to Aub 11/16. LSU heads to Bama 11/9. there's 2 sec outs, unless the games are super competitive. plus they still got the sec champ game. tOSU hosts PSU and goes to MeatChicken but both games look very winnable for the bucks. clemson aint got nobody left who's even ranked. and we'll be favored in every game we play from here on out. thats likely got your clemson #1, bucks #2, ou #3 and likely a one-loss team from the sec.
Yeah you're correct; just hate slipping spots when we either win big or are sitting on a bye and get bumped because of it. This may be one of those rare years when I have to hold my nose & hope for a hawkeye victory over Whisky; hope not
Polls are out and you're correct on the AP. I guess "BYE" was not tougher than Miami(OH).
In looking at the numbers in the AP there is only 5 pts separating OU and TOSU. Thankfully though these rankings mean very little at the end of the day because come late October the rankings that really matter will give us an clue into the early thinking by the committee.
And of course the commentators were pimping the domers after covering against the dogs immediately after the loss
The AP poll means nothing. We're still at #4 in the coaches, which also means nothing. In the end, only the committee's opinion matters.
We do this every year. It's still September. Chill.
Conference play begins in earnest and the weather patterns change for the worse. Plenty of changes and surprises ahead.

I haven't seen one unbeatable team yet. Including us.
Clemson - offense still sputtering against decent competition, defense is strong again but haven't faced a real challenge
Alabama - played nobody yet, injuries on defense
Georgia - UGA played conservative against a ND team that played even more conservative, they are complete team but nothing scary
LSU - young on defense, offense looks the part, could be the real sleeper if defense begins to feel
Auburn - another team with strong potential but young QB a year away
Ohio State - same boat as us, played nobody and skill talent just overwhelming bad competition
ND - solid team but coach knows he doesn't have the talent to go 4 quarters with big boys
Texas - same problem as every year, they're a bunch of queers

Yep, even remember last year when the aggies played clempson and lost by 2 points I believe, Herbstreit said the aggies should move up in the polls after a close loss. Smdh

Actually neither poll means anything Bull. They are just traditional polls while the only real poll that matters is the CFP Committees.
