Rough start for OU. Eleven batters in three innings. Two have put the ball in play. No walks, one HBP. Eight strike outs. Erin Miller is batting sixth. She had a two out triple in the second.

Defense bailed the Sooners out in the first. A hit and an error led to first and third and no outs. But OU old third baseman, new shortstop Kelsey Arnold threw out a runner at the plate and then Nicole Pendley turned a lineout to center into a double play to end the first.

In the third a two out single and a wild pitch put a runner at second with two outs, after a walk, Minnesota's clean up hitter grounded out to Kelsey.

The Gopher's pitcher, Groenewegen is ahead of the hitters and not much contact allowed. Minnesota played a laugher earlier in the day and got their bats going in a run rule win in five innings. Minnesota is ranked 13th. Their pitcher is pretty good.

Both teams went in order in the fourth. Still 0-0. Erin Miller who has OU's only hit leading off the fifth.

The Sooners play 19th ranked Washington later tonight.

Wodach got OU's second hit, but with out one, was picked off first on a failed bunt attempt. Only three batters. Sara Groenewegen has thrown 62 strikes in 77 pitches.

Parker is getting into a groove. Gopher's also go in order. No score after five.

In the 7th, Kelsey Arnold walked with one out, and stole second with two outs. But Erin Miller took a tough strike three to end the inning. In B7, Minnesota's eighth place hitter went yard. Gophers win 1-0. OU had four base runners. Two hits.

Can't use this speed as intended if you don't get on base.
