'twas the week before bedlam and all through the state,
not a sooner was sleeping, they just couldn't wait!
the rankings were out for all to see,
and what do you know? the Sooners were three!
the fans were nestled all snug in their beds,
while visions of championships danced in their heads!
while the Cowboys with their anger and their usual crap,
realized this win will not fall in their lap!
when out in Alabama there arose such a clatter,
remembering the sugar bowl when we ripped them to tatters!
away to their twitters they went in a flash,
claiming our team was nothing but trash..
but the committee knows better, they see the glow
from the heisman statue that is soon to show!
when, what to stoops eyes should appear?
but Mayfield, Perine and Mixon, oh dear!
with the seniors like Shepard and Striker so quick,
they knew in a moment the Sooners were the right pick!
more rapid than Eagles to the playoffs they came,
and stoops whistled and shouted and called them my name!
"Now Mayfield, now Shepard, now Perine, now Mixon!
on Westbrook on Sanchez, let's all get to blitzin!
to the top of the ratings to the top of them all!
we will prove we are the best this fall!"
let the pistols fire as we pass them by
and even give Bama another try
but we know that our sooner magic is true
for 85, 2000 and 2015, too!
and even if Texas made our team look aloof,
next year the schooner will stomp them with each hoof!
and after the loss, our season turned around-
down the field, baker came with a bound!
he can sneak out of plays he is fast on his foot,
and his passes will go just where he wants them put!
the sooner traditions he carries on his back,
he would make a great addition to the heisman park pack!

reminds us of days back when we had Barry!
our season may appear to be drawn up like a bow,
but next we know that our guys have to show!
take down pistol Pete, hit him right in the teeth!
and contain their Rudolph, circle him like a wreath!
while the Orange is terrible and can look quite hell-y,
don't be distracted if Gundys hair gel is smelly!
we will win big 12 championship, I say so myself,
and put that trophy back up on our shelf!
with a tip of his visor and a nod of his head,
the Sooners knew stoops had nothing to dread!
he went back to practice, took the guys back to work
and told Baker to get up, there's no time to hurt!
now setting him up for the heisman pose,
and excited to see how far this kid goes,
he sprung to the huddle, to his team gave a whistle
and toward him they flew, like the down of a thistle
and I heard him exclaim as it boomed through the night:
BOOMER SOONER TO ALL, AND TO ALL A GOOD NIGHT!
