Nic Anderson in transfer portal…

Hope this doesn’t affect the transfer of John Mateer.

I don't think Mateer's decision is going to be swayed one way or another by an OU receiver entering the transfer portal who has 0 receptions for 0 yards in OU's last 12 games and who has been injury plagued his entire career.

Anderson milked his injury the entire year and everyone knows it. So disgusted with players like this.

LV, I refer to next year not this year in mentioning Anderson’s injury. When healthy, in case you missed it, Anderson was a very good and clutch receiver.
I’m looking at OU situation from Mateer’s vantage point. In doing so, it seems he would want a solid offensive line and a solid corps of receivers.

Its been said Nic and his Parents were not too happy with his surgery and Medical Staff at OU. Possibly a lawsuit pending. Interwebs chatter so who knows. Good luck to him.

Plus Mateer hasnt entered the portal. OU cant talk to him until he does. They better get on the phone and start talking the qb's who have entered the portal, cause if Hawkins is QB1 next year it will be another long year

"When healthy". Yes, I know. That's one out of the three seasons he was at OU.
Whether Anderson regains his health or not after leaving OU, his absence could be felt in 2025, just as it was in 2024.
OU’s receiving corps this season was awful as was the offensive line.
Only two WR’s are in the 2025 class and hopefully they can add good depth for the receiving corps.
OU needs to get good additions in the JUCO and transfer portals.

Interesting Podcast by Ikard and Lehman on Nic Andersons injury and why he entered the Portal, Nics Perspective. Might explain a lot of things about all the injuties we had this season.

You hit the nail on the head. He didn't return because the family was VERY unhappy with the OU medical team. Significantly, this is the one phase of the OU football program that was quite substandard, and the one that BV isn't accountable for. That group is hired by the president of the university.

Although Mateer is still practicing with the team and might even play in their bowl game, there's not a lot that can be deduced from that. Remember, when Riley left OU for USC, Caleb Williams practiced hard and played well in the Alamo Bowl. He didn't even discuss the possibility of transferring until after the game was over.
