If the NFL dropped the three years removed from high school stipulation for draft eligibility, that would eliminate a lot of the chaos in college football right now. Now that it's openly and "legally" all about the money in college as well, I'd like to see those players/parents who are primarily concerned about a paycheck be able to get on to the league ASAP. Unfortunately, short of creating a minor league system, I'm not sure the NFL would have any incentive to change the rule, as they want those three years to evaluate the players and let them physically mature. There are probably less than 10 players in the last 30 years who could have made a 53-man roster right out of high school, but perhaps a D-league situation would make sense? I could argue that this would be a real positive for the NFL because they could more accurately evaluate the talent within their own system. Thoughts?
