Good riddance? WTF, dude has been solid for us. I'm glad he came to OU. I'm glad we never heard one ounce of hesitation from him like we had from so many others after Lincoln left. I'm happy he should have a successful career and represent us well. I was at the game. Blame the missed extra point on fans who bestow bad luck on the team like me.When he missed that extra point, I had many choice words directed towards my television. Good riddance. Oklahoma always has great kickers imo
Do you try to come across this stupid, or do you come by it naturally?Their just chasing that money. They should just stay in school and earn a degree, but that's not a condition of employment with the NFL. Most who make this move will end up without a job or a degree.
The term "student athlete" seems to becoming obsolete these days.Do you try to come across this stupid, or do you come by it naturally?

And saying players should stay in school and get a degree is admirable, but now it is an outdated concept. Everything to do with sports is an urgent money-grab, pro or college.
CFB is too much regarded as an audition for playing on Sundays and not earning a degree from a university.
The NFL, which lacks any sense of morality or common sense will continue to rape CFB with early player exits....as its product gets less and less fun to watch.
I did not say the majority of players are in CFB auditioning for the NFL. Just too many.I don't believe that to be true for the majority of athletes. The OP mentioned 3 players - two of those have already graduated and the 3rd is a kicker majoring in mechanical engineering.... that's not the path one chooses if he is just there to play sports. My response was to a poster who made a stupid, lazy, ill-informed comment to the OP.
By the way, Pat Fields just accepted a full academic scholarship to do his graduate degree at Stanford.
I understand Sham. I'm also glad that he came to OU. That was the only extra point he missed of the season. Last year, he didn't miss any extra point's. His redshirt freshman year, he was perfect. Dude is going to have a great future! So, bring on the next kid and hopefully he will be another great kicker for OU. Anyways, I'm not mad about it.😊Good riddance? WTF, dude has been solid for us. Apparently Turner-Yell is bouncing too. Are most of these juniors just so money hungry they'll take whatever money they can get from the draft? None of these guys are going to be high draft picks imo
Yeah that's was I was meaning also, I should have said they either have true time left or covid time left. Heck if I was Asamoah, Turner Yell and even the other defense guys leaving I would have thought real hard about another year to get technically sound under Venables and have a chance to raise their draft status. Then again, I am sure every position will be up for grabs starting in January so nothing is guaranteed if they come back. Most of these guys are seniors. They're just announcing they are declaring because they have the option to get an extra year due to covid. I'll check but I think only Brooks, Brkic and Asamoah were technically juniors.

Stoops made a good point about the opt-outs for the draft. He said this will be the deepest draft ever. I think most of our guys who could stay another year would benefit from Schmitty and new schemes, but life expectancy in the nfl is probably age bias too so they may have that as a motivating factor.Yeah that's was I was meaning also, I should have said they either have true time left or covid time left. Veritas 59, do you try to come across as a dick or do you come by it naturally? My guess is that you come by it naturally. You may be an Oklahoma fan but your comment is way out of line. Something must have happened to make you a dick. Wife leave you? Dad/Mom mean to you as a child? You all alone now? You keep being a dick to people and you will find yourself alone forever.Do you try to come across this stupid, or do you come by it naturally?
All respect to Fields and DTY but we've got better talent on campus.
