Classes at OU start on the 29th and there are a few transfers on the OU radar that need to arrive by the 29th to be eligible for spring ball.
Three Tennessee players....RB Eric Gray, DB Keshawn Lawrence and DE Kat Bryant are still at large and are targeted by OU.
Gray would be an instant impact running back.
Lawrence was a top-100 recruit.
Bryant is also an instant impact player.
And there are others possible.

Got a starting Guard today from Arizona. Going to be some real battles in spring camp on OL and DL. Can only be good for the upcoming year...one that features one good team Iowa State and one maybe in the shorthorns.

I think and hope that Riley can bring in some more transfers to fill key positions and so far he's doing well with QB Bowens and OL Morris.
As I said, the next week could bring in some very strong additions.....on top of a top ten recruiting class....and, for what it's worth, running backs Camar Wheaton and LJ Johnson have yet to sign.

Is there a chance LR is ahead of the curve and signing a limited number of high school prospects, while leaving some extra schollies for the transfer portal? These players, when they work, can have a much more immediate impact especially for need positions.

Really good point.
My bet is that Riley is way ahead of the curve in many ways.
His understanding that having a defensive team that is championship worthy and then seeing the progress made last season, for me, is a strong indication that Riley's work is finally being actualized.
The same shrewdness looks to be impacting recruiting talent as 9 of the 16 commitments are defensive players with a nice balance: 2 DEs, 2 DTs, 2 LBs, 3 DBs....with ATH Bobby Bowman as a wild card and possibly a two-way performer.
The running back addition issue, I predict, will be resolved this week.....but then, how many teams have players like Brooks, McGowan and Morris in their RB rotation ?

They can't sign until February 3.

Camar is now rumored to have 'opened' up his recruitiment once again. Not sure if OU is still interested at this point and he's looking around. He could be sniffing out Texas now that Herman is gone.

Camar Wheaton was recruited by Jeff Banks & Charles Huff for Alabama. Banks is now at Texas & Huff is now HC at Marshall. I'm thinking he's following his recruiting coach from Bama and is headed to Texas.

If that be the case I would suggest OU never had a shot. Good luck to him, OU will manage to keep winning is my guess. I will not entertain the concept of him considering OU again.
