I mean... 33 points and 500 yards sounds like complete shit, right? If we just look at what's on paper... then absolutely. That's garbage.
But I think our defense is actually just average. Not good... not bad... just average. Very mediocre.
I'm speaking literally here.
We've got some real issues in the secondary. But our DL and LB's look REALLY really good. We actually have more than 1 playmaker in the front 7 for once. Murray, Mann, Bledsoe, Jackson, Bolton, Perkins... those guys are all proven playmakers. And then Gallimore, R.Jones, and potentially Kelly are really solid too. But other than Brown - our secondary is weak AF.
Today was a solid performance IMO. It didn't show up on the stat sheet... but what... 6 sacks? That's legit. And we held their running game to 2.0 ypc. That's awesome. Just gotta get off the field on 3rd down more than we have been.

But if our OL can get the running game going more consistently, we may not need the defense to be any better than that to get us to the playoff. It still pisses me off that we'll never have a better than average defense with FUMS here... but at this point... average will suffice for the rest of this year. I can only pray Lincoln cans his ass at the end of the year.
