If it's....

A) Cody Thomas. Fine. Good. Let's give him a shot. He was a guy who admittedly looked lost last year in the JH offense. But he also put up incredibly productive numbers in high school in an offense very similar to the one the Sooners are supposedly set run with new OC Riley. He has ideal size, a strong arm and perhaps more upside than anyone else currently on campus.

B) Baker Mayfield. Again, OK, let's roll with this guy if he's the choice. Small, a Tech walk on who is fearless and looks to be very accurate, although yes, a bit untamed, wild, and capable of committing multiple turnovers either via interceptions or fumbles. He's flashy, vocal, a good leader and seems a good fit for the current offense.

C) Trevor Knight. Back to the Future. No way, right? We can't do this AGAIN can we? With all due respect to OC Riley's wiz kid abilities, we surely can't assume he'll somehow make Knight less fragile as well as release the demons of pick6s in virtually every critical Sooner game.

Bottom line, for the team and fans, the first two offer hope, a fresh beginning with a fresh new OC. Selecting Knight signals more of the same, without change, and the replacement QB watch would begin. How long would Knight last? Game 2? Game 3?

Hopefully, it's either A or B. C equals another lost season before it even begins.
