An observation after last nights drubbing. We often discuss the "coaches" only as the x and o's guys. That may be true in the NFL, but NOT TRUE in college football. Recruiting is far more important. As evident in last nights game. Clemson had the best or equal talent at every position. We were not big enough, strong enough, or fast enough to play in the Orange Bowl.
Maybe playing in the BIG 12 does limit the coaches as to whom they need to recruit because of the "play station" offenses. If so, then not one team from the BIG 12 will ever win a National Championship. And after watching Alabama dismantle Mich. State, I KNOW we would not have stood up to Alabama. Coaches can only take their COACHING to a certain level. At some point, if OU is ever going to win another National Championship, our coaches/recruiters HAVE to start getting bigger, stronger, faster LB"s, def lineman, offensive linemen, and receivers to commit. Otherwise get used to winning the Big 12 and getting dominated in the final 4.
Happy New Year!
