Some fun this evening. Didn't get Jeremiah Hall or Charleston Rambo, but not that bad.

Sermon closing the show?
Oh, that’s awesome. Getting the running game going – there’s nothing better than that.
Compliment to OL?
Of course. We love it. Put the game on our shoulders, we love that. Us lining up and trying to dominate people is what we’re trying to do every time. It’s awesome.
OL mentality after Kyler INTs?
We weren’t too worried. It’s Kyler, you know. We knew he was going to bounce back and have a great game like he did. We just kept pushing. We weren’t worried about it.
Bedlam mean more?
Yea, of course. You know, growing up as an OU fan, this game, the Texas game, those games mean a lot to me as an OU fan.
Emotions tough for Bedlam?
Not too much. Every game you have to go into it mentally ready to play, mentally ready to do everything.
Lubbock rattle you?
No, not really. Not too much. I like playing on the road. I like playing in hostile environments. It’s a fun challenge.

Worried about doing the bow after touchdowns:
We don't really want to do too much to hurt the team. I'm kind of almost just cautious.
Thoughts on Horns Down and flag:
I don't really think too much of it. I just know we can't do too much of celebrations. Again, it just hurts the team. Coach Riley talked to us about being cautious and that's what we try to do.
Ask coaches if needed to stop doing the bow:
No, I didn't. I just tried to speed it up a little bit.
Momentum of stringing together good games:
It just helps me keep going. The more confidence that I have in myself, the more I feel like I can just go out there and make more plays and win my one-on-one battles, make guys miss and things like that.
Talk to Rodney after taking over the No. 1 role:
I actually talked to Rodney during that process, during that time. He was just telling me that I came here to play, not that the load is going to be on my shoulders. He told me that he believes in me and I was ready for it.
Early in game, some pushing and shoving. Easy to walk away?
It’s easy for me to walk away. I try not to really listen to anybody who’s really talking, besides my teammates. I just try to, again, I try to do everything I can not to hurt the team.
Have you embraced Preacherman nickname?
Yes I have.
Recruited here with Kennedy, any idea you’d have to both make an impact so quickly?
I mean, we definitely really didn’t expect it. But again, our mentality is just to step up when our name is called. I feel like so far we’ve done a pretty good job and I think our ceiling is still really high, but we have a lot of room for improvement and I think we have a bright future.

Your guys need to control themselves?
Yea, yea. You know, there's a lot of things that go on out there that people can't see. Yes, but you still have to control your emotions. Like I told them earlier today, 99.5 percent of the time we do it, and the 0.5 percent is gonna cost us. It hasn't cost us up to this point. It almost did then. We get a personal foul and then we're kicking off from 20-yard line. They go down and score, they get the onside kick, they got a chance to win. Luckily it didn't hurt us, but yeah, we've gotta control our emotions better. Most of the time, we do, but those couple times a game, it just can't happen. It's just about the individual controlling themselves. And no matter what the other guy does, no matter what he says, no matter what he does, you can't retaliate.
Bigger point of emphasis this week against OSU?
It's always a point of emphasis, the way that we play and the way that I'm gonna coach. That's the way we're gonna play. We're gonna play the right way, but we're also gonna be disciplined. So it's every week. You've gotta control your emotions. Is this a different game? Yes it is a different game. No matter who you're playing, when you're playing, you've gotta have your emotions in check and play disciplined and unselfish.
Texas game was the best of the year, you said. Felt that way every game since?
Yeah, I feel we've gotten better in every single game since then. We continue to improve. We continue to play better. Again, the biggest thing is cutting out the penalties that we don't need. There was one hold. You know, it was a hold. I understand it. But the guy was out there, he was playing hard, he was playing physical, just got his hands outside. That stuff happens. But you know, the two personal foul penalties, those things can’t happen. They’re going to cost us games. Other than those things, everything each week has gotten better and better and better.
Down by 14, mentality?
It doesn't matter. You just do your job. It doesn't matter if we're up by 50 or down by 50. All you can control is how you play each individual play. I try -- it's hard, but -- I try to get them to never look at the scoreboard. That's the biggest thing is don't look at that. You play to the best of your ability every single snap, and I think we've done that. We did it at Texas. We were down 21 points and came back. We're a mature, experienced group that I think understands that and can handle that.

Health?
I’m getting better each and every day, rehabbing. I’m feeling good.
Feel like you caught that deep ball?
I felt like I caught. It was a bang-bang play. I should’ve never let it go anyway. I feel like I caught it.
How did OSU cover him last season?
A lot of man. Some cover three. They’re pretty much the same this year — a lot of man, cover three and cover four.
Seeing more shaded coverage this season?
Yea, yea. I’m getting a lot of roll coverage. But just that just opens things up for my teammates. When they do that, I know someone else is gonna be open.
