Boy, not much this evening. CeeDee Lamb, Marquise Brown and Bill Bedenbaugh. I wasn't around Brown, and I'll get to Bedenbaugh following dinner.

Here's Lamb, which admittedly wasn't much.

After a loss like that, rather play right now? Or bye week help?

"I feel like us having the open week gave us time to gather ourselves, and we feel like we did that. We used it wisely and now we’re going to prepare to play a great team like TCU."

Kyler's mentality?

"I feel like he got stronger. Coming from me, as a guy in the locker room as well, I feel like I had a part to do in it as well. I could have caught one more ball – that hitch. I could have done a lot more. He’s not the only one to feel like everything is on him. For us, to be a great teammate, we have to be there for him and have to help him."

Have Kyler and Marquise raced yet?

"No, they haven’t. I don’t think they will. They’re both lazy. They don’t feel like racing each other."

They don't race, nobody can brag?

"Exactly, so they can both say they’re the fastest and neither one of them has the upper hand."

Why do guys bounce back so well following losses?

"Honestly, we’re just putting those puzzle pieces together. Nobody wants that bad taste in their mouth from last week or last year."

How'd the O-line play vs. Texas?

Good. Really good. I mean, our best game.

Why was it the best game?

Because they played the way they're supposed to. I mean, they executed the way they're supposed to. They finished. Assignments have always been good for us, but they played the way they're supposed to. The way that we expect them to play.

Unit cohesion?

I think so. And I think Bobby getting used to left tackle. Cody getting used to right tackle. I know everybody thinks it's easy, you just go to this position and that position and all of a sudden, it's easy, but it's not. Everything is different going from one side to the other, and then Cody ... and Cody has played pretty good the whole year. But he is getting better and better and better and you can see it on film. As each individual improves, then the group improves. And then again, just working together and getting comfortable. But I think it's each individual guy at their position getting comfortable and improving.

Ruffin a perfect guy to take over?

I think so. I think so. But that's ... I've got a lot of other things to worry about quite honestly. I've got five guys I've gotta coach. But I think so. I mean, Ruff is one of the best guys in the world. I've known him for a long time. I wasn't at Tech when all that stuff went down, but I was with Ruff for a long time. He's really good for our whole team.

Alvarez back this week?

I know it won't be this week. It may be the following week, but it won't be this week.

You learn anything about the offense with that comeback?

You know, I don't know that we didn't know it. But the one thing that I really liked is they just kept playing. Nobody got worried, nobody didn't do their job. They just kept playing and playing and playing. That's all you can do. That's the one thing that you try to stress as a coach is that the only thing that matters is that play and doing your job on that play and then moving to the next play. They're kids. I mean, hey, don't look at the scoreboard, don't worry about all those things, but they're young guys and you know they do. The thing that I thought, at least, that I learned is that's what they did. They just kept playing. They kept playing. And until the end. I mean, we were down, what, seven points for most of it and I know we got down 21 there in the third, but even at that point, they just kept playing. And that's what you have to do. None of the other stuff matters. It's each individual doing their job until there's no time left.
