Alright time to keep this thing rolling!
*A player who had been to Norman several times previously but always comes back raving is Lucas (Texas) Lovejoy 2025 receiver Daylan McCutcheon. Though this time he was a bit more muted he found something that he is intrigued with in Norman.
"It was nice visiting OU," McCutcheon said. "What stood out to me is how much OU cares about the football players outside of football, like the SOUL program."
**Another guy that loved his trip to Norman was a player with far less experience in Norman was Derby, Kan. 2025 tight end offer Da'Saahn Brame.
"Oh man, the visit was great," Brame said. "It was just the culture and how everyone gets along. Joe Jon (Finley) is probably one of my favorite coaches I’ve ever met.
"He's an awesome outgoing guy."
***Some of my favorite tape of any prospect on campus is that of Las Vegas Bishop Gorman offensive tackle Douglas Utu.
The nation's No. 15 prospect in the rising junior class Utu made his first trip to Norman and was also impressed by Oklahoma's player support structure.
"OU was a great visit. I had a lot of fun being able to learn more about the college, especially with their “SOUL Purpose” program," Utu said.
I don't know when it will happen but my feeling is that he'll be back at some point, maybe repeatedly as the Sooners have made a good early impression.
UPDATE: 6:31a - A guy that didn't think he was going to be able to make it but got things together at the last minute is Overland Park (Kan.) St. Thomas Aquinas defensive line offer Julian Marks. The big man hit Norman on time and was excited to spend some time around the Sooner coaching staff.
"I talked to coach (Brent) V(enables) and coach (Todd) Bates one-on-one," Marks said. "Coach Bates, he really knows his stuff. sitting in the defensive line meeting was great because I got to see how much detail the d-line really has."
UPDATE: 12:29p - I said all week that whether he picked up an offer this week or not Broken Arrow, Okla. 2026 superstar Kaydin Jones would eventually hold one from the Sooners.
"OU was fun!! All the coaches and players made it feel like that’s where I need to be," Jones exclaimed.
He was joined in Norman by his father, former Sooner running back Kejuan Jones, who the younger Jones couldn't help but laugh at due to his talking about how much things had changed from his father's era 2001-2005.
Jones talked about the hospitality in Norman being a huge piece of things but what's interesting is the relationship developing between his father and Oklahoma's own former Sooner running back Demarco Murray.
"I don’t think they were ever in contact in college. they know each other now, just from us going down there and talking to him."
Oklahoma and Jones didn't take as big a step as I thought it might this weekend but given time OU is going to be really tough to beat.
UPDATE: 3:16p - Spoke a bit with 2025 defensive line offer Landon Rink about his trip up from Cypress (Texas) Cy-Fair and how the Sooners impressed him.
"It was amazing, I had a great time," the Rivals250 defender said.
"The practice was filled with amazing energy and intensity that I loved, very high tempo," he said. "I was with coach (Todd) Bates the whole time from when I stepped on and off campus and he is a really amazing person and coach and I had a great time with him.
"Coach Venables is an amazing person and coach as well I loved my meeting with him."
The talented pass rusher is the son of former Texas Longhorn Shane Rink but according to the younger Rink, all parties enjoyed this weekend in Norman.
"He seemed pretty good and he loved the visit as well."
UPDATE: 8:08p - One of the most explosive prospects on campus was 2025 Humble (Texas) Atascocita Rivals100 running back Tory Blaylock. He spoke about his trip to Norman and, like most you've read so far, was glowing about his trip.
"(It was) a great experience," Blaylock said.
But interestingly he noticed something about the Oklahoma's staff that tells him more about Norman and being an Oklahoma player than a coach, or current player, ever could.
"The staff is crazy! All those guys are like family; they all played at Oklahoma then came back and coached which can give you the idea that it’s a good spot to be at," he resolved.
Blaylock is another guy that I won't be surprised to see back in Norman before the end of the summer.
