Just got back to the hotel following Media Day at Sun Life Stadium ... wanted to share some thoughts before I jump into all of the video from today.

* Joe Mixon stuff was fascinating. I'll let Carey jump on and talk about it.

* The biggest thing I took out of today was the future of the program ... Carey and I spent a lot of time talking to guys we haven't been able to talk with all year. We're talking about guys like Rodney Anderson, Ricky DeBerry, Du'Vonta Lampkin, Curtis Bolton, Tay Evans, John Humphrey, Will Sunderland, etc.

* If there was a guy that stood out the most in talking with it'd probably be John Humphrey ... he looks great physically, and has played an integral part on the Sooners scout team throughout the year. Whether it be imitating Corey Coleman during Baylor week or this week as he plays the role of Clemson WR Artavis Scott.

Humphrey said he feels like his game is very similar to that of Scott's. He also said he'll be running track this spring for OU.

* The second most impressive guy we spoke with might be a tie between Lampkin and Ricky DeBerry.

Lampkin spoke about his journey to Norman ... comparisons to Tommie Harris ... and how long it took him to get back in shape. He claims to have lost 40 pounds since arriving to campus.

DeBerry is an excellent talker and you can really tell he is enjoying every minute of being a part of the program.

* Overall, in talking with that freshmen group ... it's obvious how close they are as a class. I couldn't have been more impressed with how this young group handled the media today. Really, really impressive stuff. The future seems extremely bright.

* Curtis Bolton really looks good physically, same can be said for Tay Evans.

* Rodney Anderson said he still isn't running, yet. Said the process of rehab has been good and he's excited to get back once the spring rolls around.

* I spoke with Austin Seibert for a little bit ... My first question ..."How's your feet?" ... he laughed and said he's ready to kick on Thursday.

* I'm going to start going through the video now and will start adding stuff as the day goes on.

* Charles Tapper wore sunglasses during the entire interview session ... Baker Mayfield said he whooped up on Eric Striker in Halo last night ... really the veteran guys were having a good time today. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. It was a fun atmosphere to be around.

* Neville Gallimore does a pretty damn good Biggie Smalls impression. It was funny. Will post video ASAP.
