I have seen so many posts regarding this topic over the first 2 weeks that I felt compelled to post. Here are my thoughts:

1) Comparing the 2 is stupid. Baker beat out Trevor in a fair competition and is the QB of this team....PERIOD. Trevor had a great camp, is a great backup capable of more than likely any backup in the country and would start at a ton of D1 schools. They are friends and support each other and that was on full display last weekend.

2) Comparing them is also stupid because it is a different year with different coaches and personnel. Everyone's preconceived notions on Knight are based on prior years from an Offense that had no identity and put players in bad positions on a regular basis (Huepel isn't exactly lighting the world on fire at Utah State either).

Trevor did have a better O line last year compared to this year (which makes a big difference) but the skill players were not near the level of this year IMO(Neal and Quick were the top guys at the end of last year at WR when Shep was out and Perine didn't find his groove until late in the year outside of WVU) and the D looks to be vastly improved this year as well (there is no comeback last weekend without the D playing lights out in the second half).

3) Baker IMO was very average for 3 quarters last weekend. I thought this was due to being super antsy due to poor pass blocking that led to him overthrowing numerous routes, rushing throws and leaving the pocket early. Drops by the WRs only compounded this problem and quite frankly he and the O were not having a good game. THAT BEING SAID, even as Trevor's cousin, I am proud that the coaches did not bail on the kid and gave him a chance to come back. Riley said the starter should have leeway and he stuck to his word and guess what...Baker had a GREAT 4th quarter and OTs and the rest is history! The fade to Shep for a TD was one of the prettiest throws/catches I have seen in some time.

4) Enjoy the win. The schedule sets up great to head into November showdowns with TCU & Baylor undefeated and this team still has a lot to improve upon. If they hit their stride by then well then all bets are off. This team is unified (the QBs all are really close btw), they love the coaches and schemes and I think great things lie ahead if they keep their foot on the gas.
