Love the way the OU-Albany game is being called.

Didn't love the call on Spangler, but they are letting the teams play. When they let the teams play, OUr guys are pretty good.

We had six fouls in the first half.

And Bennett is giving some major quality minutes. I know he can't throw it in the ocean from the line, but I've thought all year he should play more. As a senior, I'd rather see him out there than Lattin, especially if he keeps playing like this.

We've had a bunch of games where we played a great half and a less than good followup, or vice versa. But we didn't exactly play great in the first half. Several just dumb plays and a few brain farts.

But they're singling TaShawn mostly, and they cannot handle him that way. Somebody tell Cousins and especially Booker, that their drive and dish game is sorely lacking.

But so far, so good. And if they keep letting us get after it, I don't think Albany will catch us. Their best big guy has three fouls in the first half.

I haven't watched a complete basketball in years. I'm watching this one tonight. My only thought is a Billy Tubbs team would have destroyed this team by half time. He would have hung a 100...............
has anyone seen Buddy?...did he get off the bus?

and I kid....what a bunch of sloppy passing by the entire team

I was very unimpressed with what saw tonight.................
different game (different times)...they actually try to play defense instead of....hey if the guy misses we are running up and trying to get a dunk. Pretty much the same philosophy as foosball....Defense wins championships ....unless you have 5 first round NBA picks...*ha

they play little defense in the NBA

Agreed on the comments about a sloppy game by our guards. Passes were not good. Give Albany some credit, but our guys were just very careless with many, many passes tonight. However, I did like that we got our big guys in the flow of the game early and they responded well. Thomas was huge tonight on both ends and when he scores early, he can really make the offense tick. Bennett played very well scoring a couple of big baskets early and although Spangler pulled down some big rebounds, he just does not seem as fluid or comfortable with the ball when going to the basket. I wonder if his points per game has decreased these last 10 or 12 games because he just seems to be struggling offensively.

Glad for Lon to get the First Round Bounce monkey off his back and for the Sooners to have their first NCAA Tourney win since 2009. Hope he can keep it going on Sunday!

I agree Schooner..several times Spangler had a good look at the basket and passed off. The one time I do remember him actually taking jump type shot it was literally an air ball. I think his defense is and always has been great, but something is up with him. Thomas was the reason we won that game..period. Cousins lost their guard several times only to see at least 4 deep 3's that I remember. All I can say is that our game has to ramp up a ton to get to the sweet round.

Albany was a team we should've beaten because we have better players. I like the way Coach Kruger gave more minutes to our bench. Giving those guys confidence could pay dividends if they have to play in pressure situations in upcoming games.

I don't know why Spangler is so timid on offense. Earlier in the season, he'd occasionally shoot the open three. He hit a few and it really opened things up for everyone else so I didn't have a problem with it. Now he seems to only take shots of the "garbage" (e.g. putback) variety. I like his grit and toughness but his tentativeness offensively allows opposing defenses to "cheat" onto the guys on our team that aren't afraid to shoot. It also allows teams to clog the paint. We've had a couple of games (Texas comes to mind) when we seemingly had double digits of our shots blocked.

Our guards will have to play much better if we're going to advance. Thomas was able to do pretty much what he wanted offensively inside and (for whatever reason) Albany didn't force him to give up the ball. Against teams with larger from lines and better coaching, we simply won't be able to get those points with the ease we saw tonight.

Tashawn had a huge game!! The rest was mighty sloppy, but we are still there!! They will need to pick it up next game. There was a lot of poor passing, and some of our shot selections, were really questionable. There were some forced threes very early in the shot clock. Several times, that lead to Albany rebounds, and more chances for them to hit their threes!!! We just needed to keep trying to work it inside and use some clock, but I think Buddy was trying to force his shot. In the tournament, you just find a way to survive, and we did!! I'm happy for them!! Boomer!

Spangler has lost all confidence on offense and it started quite some time ago with the 3. He was hitting quite a few early in the season, but then couldn't hit any after that, then, after looking much improved in the paint, he started to look awkward and losing control at times, now he can't even seem to hit open mid jumpers. It's all between his ears right now, I only hope he can get it straightened out in the offseason for his senior year because he should be a force.
