Clemson fans are proud of Watson as they should be. I just wonder if they realize our Q-B history? I know, the game will be decided this year, not on the past. Here's my list....

#1 Josh Heupel (2nd in the Heisman)
#2 Sam Bradford (Heisman winner)
#3 Jason White (Heisman winner)
#4 Laundry Jones ( all time passing leader)
#5 Baker Mayfield aka JFW...He could move up with an NC...

Clemson posters, please list yours............HA!

Baker is already ahead of Landry. I put team ranking above stats.

Landry's best finish was #6.
2009 - NR
2010 - 6
2011 - 16
2012 - 15

I think BW hit the best list, though with the top three, it's really hard to sort them. Sam was the first pick in the NFL draft That means something. We didn't win the national title because Josh played lights out in the NC game. He got us there, but the defense finished the deal.

Jason got us there twice. If the defense had played like they did against FSU, he'd have two rings. And he was on the Heisman stage twice.

I know this. Jason is the least appreciated Sooner quarterback ever.

Even after only one season, and minus the Heisman Awards, gaudy passing numbers or being a high draft pick after leaving OU, Mayfield gets my vote as the best.
Mayfield, IMO, could operate well with any offense ever used by OU. His energy level inspires his team and makes everyone around him play better.....and I think that includes the defense as well. His ability to ad lib....to simply take what the defense gives him...and his combined ability to run well and throw well...is the best I have seen ever by an OU quarterback. There have been better passers (White/Bradford) and better runners (virtually any of the wishbone quarterbacks), but I do not believe there has ever been the combination of both running and passing than that of Mayfield.
The trio of Heupel, White and Bradford are all tied for second in my rankings....but the bottom line is that there have been 4 great quarterbacks during Stoops' 17 seasons at OU.
My only real concern for Mayfield is 1...his avoiding injury and 2...how well OU will be able to furnish him with a solid receiving corps after this season and in his final year.

CT, I agree with this 100%. Before I read your post, I was wondering how I could go about saying it. I decided I would ask the question, "Of these great QBs, which one would you most want to face Clemson in the upcoming game?" My pick, without hesitation, is Baker Mayfield. For all the reasons you just gave.

All were, ARE, OUtstanding, for both similar, and different, reasons, but what sets Baker apart from the others is his 'IT' Factor...That's a Rare Asset in any walk of life, but when you are on a stage as large as the one that Baker has been showcased in, and have captured the hearts of Fans, everywhere, we know we are witnessing Greatness when #6 takes the field...

As much as I'm impressed with Baker Mayfield's playing ability, I'm even more blown away by his 'Story'...The road he had to take to simply BE here. He has fought the good fight...I'm looking forward to seeing him 'Finish'...

No doubt, Baker should be above Jones. If Baker leads the team to #8 and/or to another big xii championship and a spot in the playoffs next year, he will definitely be at the top.
