Here to solve all of the problems with the University of Oklahoma football program.

Lunch: Midway Deli -- I went with a turkey & swiss and I must say it was delightful.

* Billy Bowman expected to be back this week; Woodi Washington will miss a 'significant' amount of time but will be back this season. (Editorial from Eddie: I wouldn't be surprised if Woodi is out for the year from sources I've talked to ... very much a wait and see but it's going to be awhile)

* This is a long season there's going to be a lot of twist and turns ... uses Hollywood Brown as an example of someone that didn't play a lot and then burst onto the scene mid-year. This is reference for rotations and guys that played vs. guys that did not play.

* Lack of big plays/deep balls: Riley said it's a combo of a lot of circumstances ... "We missed some things and some bad playcalls on my part ... (But) we played a little bit better offensively Saturday than I thought when we left the field" ... Riley continues: "Bottom line we need to play better ... a lot better across the board"

* on offensive problems (?) "There is a high expectation here offensively and he (Spencer) understands that ... we have the makings of a really good group ... there's a general consensus around the program that we're fairly close ... it's a fine line and we have to push it over the hump," says Riley ... also stresses that Spencer has to remain patient

* What's the difference between this year's Spencer Rattler and the one that ended the season last year? "He's been good. He could be cleaner. He's missed a couple throws that you expect him to make ... right on the verge of playing really, really well"

* Riley is pleased with the defense in the spots that they have produced when called upon in the 4th quarter

* Riley says Jalen Redmond is really starting to turn the corner; coming off his best game of the season vs. Nebraska

* Where is Marvin Mims going in the 2H? "I don't have a great answer for that" ... says it's a multitude of things that could be contributing

* Where is Jeremiah Criddell? Riley says he's pushing for playing time but had some injury setbacks plus it's a competitive group; even mentions Justin Broiles (!) as one of the guys that makes it tough to get him on the field. (That'll go over well here)

Alex Grinch

* Says he was frustrated with some individual plays vs. Nebraska ... "What I continue to look for is being more competitive at the catch point ... we need to make more plays in the pass game"

* Grinch says he's been pleased with Shane Whitter and the 'light coming on' for him

* Grinch says he doesn't make a habit of looking at guys thighs when asked about the thigh pads some of his defensive players wear. Should note he hasn't seen my thighs.

* Why no safety rotations? Grinch says he goes back to practice during the week and guys (basically) not getting it done at practice. "We don't forget what happens on Tuesday. We don't forget what happens on Wednesday" ... also says he had to do with the offense they were facing ... Nebraska shifting, motion, etc.
