Sadly, I've actually given this a lot of thought. Most agree Texas is the best job in the country...unlimited money, flag ship university, located in a hot bed of talent. With that said...what the hell is up with that program? One national title in 30 something years, relatively few conference titles in the Big 12, and season after season of underachievement.
I ask you, dear Sooner Brethren...what is the problem down there? Personally, I think part of the problem is the culture in Austin...it's a bohemian, hippie-type town that forgo's hard work in exchange for personal pleasure...I think this culture bleeds into the football program. I believe who ever takes over that job will have his hands full...he'll have talent and money running out of his ears, but overcoming the lazy mindset, and "me first" attitude of his players will be his biggest obstacle.
In case you are wondering, yes, I'm home on vacation, and yes, I have a crap load of time on my hands.
