Hey Guys,
I wanted to post today to bring awareness to the passing of a little girl who many on the football team became very close with over the past 2 years. McKenzie Horton was a little girl in the Norman area who passed away this past Thursday from a rare form of cancer. Many on the football team would visit McKenzie on a regular basis and from what I have heard she was a special little girl. Please see Trevor's post below on Facebook regarding her family's pending medical bill situation and the link below if you are wanting to help in any way. Thanks and Boomer Sooner.
From Trevor:
Two years ago on a visit to the children's hospital I had the opportunity to meet McKenzie Horton, a beautiful, energetic, fun loving 12 year old little girl who was receiving chemotherapy treatment for a rare form of cancer called Ewing's of the spine. Little did I know that over the course of our relationship, she would impact my life in a way that is unimaginable. McKenzie passed away last Thursday, but her legacy lives on. What she left behind was proof that even at age 1...2, there is such thing as unshakable faith. The courage and trust in God that both McKenzie and her family showed during her 4 year battle of cancer is one that truly has changed my life forever. This unbelievable little girl is home now, in the arms of her Savior, free of pain and suffering. Though she is gone her family continues to trust in God's plan for their life. Because of the countless doctors visits, treatments and medication they face many medical bills. This is our opportunity to bless this family in a life changing way. Let this be one last earthly blessing to show McKenzie how much she is loved. Below is a link to donate as well as an address to send checks made out to "McKenzie's Miracle." Every dollar counts! Let's join together and bless this family! God bless you and your servant heart.
